Crystal Lighting

The crystal we know and love today was first used in England in the late 1600s, adding lead oxide to glass to make it brighter, clearer and easier to work in the furnace. The beautiful cut-glass prisms that adorn chandeliers quickly followed and we are proud to have a wide selection of high-quality crystal glass lighting at Där.

Because crystal refracts the surrounding colours and materials, it can be applied to almost any interior scheme, elevating a room for a feeling of luxury. In very dark rooms, a glint of crystal can provide a dramatic focus. However, we also love it as part of a softer colour palette, giving a subtle depth to neutral shades of grey, pale taupe and soft pinks.

For properties with high ceilings, a large statement crystal chandelier is a perfect solution; drawing the eye upwards while keeping the top half of the room feeling light and spacious. For lower ceilinged properties, try a crystal flush with an arrangement of prisms to create a beautiful light pattern on the ceiling without encroaching on headspace.

For traditional interiors, small cut crystals arranged in tiered droplets give a sense of history and charm. For more contemporary schemes, try larger crystals in geometric arrangements.
